Financial Support

University of Copenhagen - Financial support in form of PhD study grants has been provided by the Faculty of Health, University of Copenhagen to all projects in the Equine Cardiac Group.

"Foreningen KUSTOS af 1881" - The foundation has supported the project "Equine Cardiac Repolarization" with 10.000 DKr. The foundation also supported the project ”Induced Short-Term Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in horses” with 10.000 DKr in 2012.

Hesteafgiftsfonden - In 2012 the fund supported the project "Exercise-Induced Cardiac Fatigue in Endurance Horses" with 25.000 DKr. In 2013 the fund supported the project ”Induced Short-Term Atrial Fibrillation in horses” with 70.000 DKr and again in 2014 the fund kindly supported the project with 50.000 DKr. Also in 2013 they supported with 45.000 DKr. In 2014 the fund is sponsoring the project ”Treatment of atrial fibrillation in horses” with 100.000 Dkr.

Karen og Peer Kruuse's education scholarship - In 2011 they supported the project "Exercise-Induced Cardiac Fatigue in Endurance Horses" with 10.000 DKr. Again in 2012 they supported with 8.745 DKr.

Other Support

Gubra - Gubra has provided the option to perform the masters project made by Lovisa K. U.  Östblom under the project "Equine Cardiac Repolarization" including the use of qPCR, laser capture microdissection and histological services.

Distanceudvalget, Dansk Rideforbund - Support of the project "Exercise-Induced Cardiac Fatigue in Endurance Horses", assisting with recruitment of volunteer private horse owners and riders as well as introducing us to an international network of endurance riders and competition organizers.
